Baby meetings follow a cycle of four broad topics:

  1. Why breastfeeding is good for mothers and babies
  2. Getting off to a good start
  3. Overcoming or avoiding challenges and difficulties
  4. Nutrition and weaning

Toddler meetings look at the questions mothers have as their breastfeeding babies grow older – attitudes to extended breastfeeding, nighttime parenting, how weaning happens, etc.

All meetings make time for discussion of mothers’ questions – if you have a question, please ask!

These informal meetings are open to all pregnant and breastfeeding mothers. Children are always welcome at LLL meetings.  There is no requirement to come to every meeting and you are welcome to keep coming to meetings for as many months (or years!) as you wish.

Our library is open for mothers to borrow books about breastfeeding and family life.  Books can be borrowed for one month.
La Leche League believes that mothers know their own babies best.  We want you to feel free to express your own ideas and experiences and to take from meetings the ideas that work for you and your family.

La Leche League is a registered charity and its leaders work as volunteers. You can support this good work by becoming a member of La Leche League.  A £20 annual subscription (concs available) brings you Breastfeeding Matters, a fantastic bimonthly magazine, discounts on selected books from our publications catalogue, and helps LLL provide mother to mother support for other breastfeeding mums.
